Before your first session at Natural Therapeutics, I really want to get to know a little about you, your reasons for appointment and your goals for our time together.
An intake form is a great way for me to see any major past medical history, to ensure safety while we are together, and it's a great time for you to go into detail about what you would like to accomplish by receiving massage. Not only does my intake form give you the opportunity to be specific about the areas of pain you're dealing with and what actions cause irritation but I also like to include important information, like parking info! I put you in charge of telling me about any medications/surgeries/and things you may be under care for. If anything is to change, I ask that you please update your intake form.

WHAT IS IT'S PURPOSE? Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. It is for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
HOW DOES IT WORK?: The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping has been known to loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and bring the nervous system to a parasympathetic state (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). HOW OFTEN CAN I DO IT? Treatments can be done as often as daily for acute problems and every other week for more chronic conditions. AFTER CARE:
Prior to massage, I was 24 and a manager at a national women's clothing store. I wasn't in love with what I did in any way.
Unfortunately, I had a medical trauma that occurred in 2016 that left me with so much stress mentally, physically and emotionally- I couldn't return to my job. I spent several days, even weeks, in the hospital and my body was feeling terrible. I wasn't used to that much stress and didn't know how to deal with it. It caused me to tighten my legs and would make it very hard for me to relax them. As you can imagine, it was very painful and I looked at many different options. I had always gotten massages, but more as a time away to "treat myself". I always saw them as a spa service and was meant to make you feel nice for a few hours. However, I got a therapeutic massage and saw that the results were meaningful and could last. I chose to sign up for massage school that year! My passion is definitely with those suffering from chronic pain and injuries. I really hope I can help others get out of pain, recover from injuries and perform at their peak.
